holiday apartments website.

The accommodation featured on this site, which is in Tiefengruben near Weimar, Thuringia, Germany and in London is available for holidays and short lets.

About us:

We are David und Ingeborg Jakobsson, architect and grammar school languages teacher respectively. We have a son Henry and daughter Hannah, both now grown-up, and a small fox terrier.

After coming to Weimar in 1991 from London in response to a professional opportunity, we moved to this wonderful and historically interesting village in 1995. Tiefengruben is a prize-winning village, circular in layout, in central Thuringia, close to Weimar and Erfurt.

Our first task was to renovate what was then a rather dilapidated house from foundations to roof. Having done that, we started in similar fashion with the equally decrepit old stable building. This is now finished and has been remodelled as a separate dwelling, which is mostly reserved for holiday accommodation. One space on the upper level we have retained for use as our office. The barn is still waiting for the planned renovation and conversion!

Since, for family reasons, we have never completely abandoned out roots in Great Britain, we still have two small flats in south-east London, our former home locality.

Translations
